WESTVIEW LIVE PRESENTS

The Clause are a four-piece from Birmingham who bring together the swagger of the 60s, the rolling groove of the 80s and the riotous verve and attitude of the 90s.  Pearce Macca (front man), Niall Fennell (drummer) Jonny Fyffe (bassist) and Liam Deakin (guitarist) effortlessly combine huge hooks with gritty verses, indie sensibilities and rhythm and blues groove and melodies to create an altogether different beast.

The music defies categorisation, rolling seamlessly from crashing percussion to huge, swinging bass. There are epic singalong choruses destined for stadiums and packed festival main stages, and darker, edgier moments evoking late night cruises down dingy back streets. The band have been together since they were kids and they have matured into one of the UK’s most exciting new bands.

Casino are the bastard sons of Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding and Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears. A riot of classic Motown and Stax mixed with a liberal dash of northern soul and a strong streak of fresh, danceable, irresistible Liverpool melody. The band have recently gained many plaudits supporting the Lightning Seeds and Jamie Webster at the end of last year, as well as highly lauded performances at Isle of Wight Festival and Ynot Festival. They have already sold out their hometown show this February at Jimmy’s in Liverpool in record time and they impressed on both BBC Introducing’s show at the Cavern and the Steam Packet Tour, curated by the Libertines’ Gary Powell. Dillon, the band’s singer, has a voice straight out of a Memphis Mississippi gravel pit. A unique sound for a band from Liverpool with their own brand of fabulous indie soul tunes which Motown’s Berry Gordy would give his right arm for. A most rare combination of a band with tunes, melodies, danceable songs, a stormin’ rhythm section and a voice which could easily have been born in Muscle Shoals. Surrender to the rhythm of classic R n’ B southern style, rock n roll with class.
